Frank Kiernan is a Teaching Artist and the owner and operator of Little Pulp, an art studio & printmaking workshop for kids located at The Shops at Atlas Park in Queens, NY.

Trained as an architect (B.Arch 1995—The Cooper Union School of Architecture). Worked in numerous architect offices before leaving the field – teaching himself graphic design. Started and ran a graphic design studio for 10 years. In 2008, the economy tanked, closed the studio. Co-founded a commercial print company. Started making customized sketchbooks for his children, using scrap paper from the shop). Parents started asking him to make sketchbooks for their kids. LIGHT BULB MOMENT – opened Little Pulp as a Pop-up Art Studio in Queens – sole purpose was to introduce the community to the sketchbooks. That was 2017 and Little Pulp has turned into a unique studio where kids and their adults work with Frank on long-term collaborative paintings and papier-mâché sculptures -and- learn the fine-art of Printmaking.
With a recent move and increasing struggles to keep the studio open, Frank is going back to the original reason for starting the studio. To create sketchbooks. As a NYC DOE Vendor, Frank is available, starting this Fall, to go into your child’s school and create personalized sketchbooks for each child (and teachers/paras and participating parents).
